Patient Story

Lifting her hand again

C5–C6 cervical disc prolapse

A prolapsed disc at C5–C6 had compressed the nerve root supplying this patient's arm, weakening her grip and her ability to lift it. Following minimally invasive cervical spine surgery to relieve the compression, function returned.

I still can't believe that I am lifting my hand — it's like magic for me.
